Default Valentine One Radar/Laser detector

Well I'm coming up on owning my hardwired valentine one detector with concealed display for a year now. It's amazing! It was the first thing I bought for my car, for the first week I was wondering if I should have bought a lip or even an exhaust and honestly this thing has paid for its self time and time again. I would suggest to anyone thinking about modding their car in any way to hold off and save up for one of these.

I am just curious if anyone has gone through and did any changes to theirs, like programming it to only to alert certian bands and laser?

Any a suggestion to anyone who is looking to buy one, call v1 up and ask if they have any returned or referbed models, there is almost no difference between getting one of them and a new one and they give a discount, but they go very very fast so check back from time to time.

This will definitely be my first "mod." My question is, where/how are you guys mounting this thing? I'd like it to be as discreet as possible.

s2000.org has the best directions there is. Its what I used. A little confusing though

Mines saved me many times.

I have got hit with a laser once going under a bridge. The cop was on the on circling on-ramp just waiting. Once I got hit with it and the radar detector when crazy I knew that second I was getting a ticket.

What sets this apart from other detecters is the arrow indicators that tell you what direction the radar is coming from and when you have passed the source. My valentine alerts me in plenty of time to slow down...you learn by experience how to interpret the alarms and arrows easier when you know where it's coming from.

On the newer 1.8 models they also have four lights that tell you what band is being detected so you know if it is a door opener or a legit radar signal.

Obviously if your jourisdiction is laser oriented then the lights just tell you it's time to pull over unless you have a laser blocker which is a separate device.

Have you guys compared it with other detectors? I have a Bel Pro RX65 that was very highly ranked and works great (a lot cheaper than the V1) and wanted to know if anyone had upgraded to the V1 from one of these?

Thanks!
