I'm somewhat a tech junkie but haven't messed with video cameras at all. I was wondering what makes a good video camera for in car video. I was hoping to find a forum dedicated to this but no luck. I figure I'll spend 500-600 for the camera. Possibly 1000 but I'd rather not. I'd like to make this a good topic on the subject. Found lots of info on mounts but very little and dated info on the cameras themselves. Thanks.

 

If you just want some cool shots, you can use a regular bullet came, but if you want HD quality, you are going to have to get a real deal camera, with some heavy duty mounts.

 

I don't want a "prosummer" camera, but I'd rather not have a "Handycam" either. HD isn't needed. I don't even have a burner or a way to playback HD. SD is fine. There is really to much stuff to choose from.
