Video Head Unit Trouble
I bought a Alpine CDA-9886 and I wanted to put a monitor in my dash.
I seen people post that they has similar models to this one, but they are running video. I was wondering if this unit will be capable of the same thing. Or, is it because they use their IPODs connected to the unit to play the videos on their monitors.
Sorry, electronic noob.

Unless I'm missing something fairly obvious, I don't think this headunit is capable of video. You would need a DVD player to send video to the monitor you want to put in the dash. You could use a video iPod with the monitor, send the video to the monitor and run the audio to the aux input on the Alpine.
The only way they are running video is if they are running an 3.5mm---> RCA adapter for the iPod, with the video going directly to the monitor, and the sound going to the HU (and out the stock speakers) via an Alpine RCA adapter (http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piealpairca.html).
You will not be able to control the iPod via the headunit, which is the main reason for getting a FullSpeed unit to begin with... You could do this with a $100 used Alpine as well (as long as its a CDA and not a CDE model number).
