Default Volume Rocker Knob Replacement?

The dumb valet guy damaged my rocker knob for the radio volume. It now doesn't have a positive "click" feel when I increase the volume. It works, but I have a feeling that it will go out soon because I have to press fairly hard to increase the volume.

Is there a procedure to replace this knob, and perhaps the springs behind it painlessly? Do I have to take apart the dash for this?

Any help is appreciated!

The dash has to be pulled out to access screws that hold the radio control panel in place. The panel can be dismantled from behind.

my rocker knob does not lower the volume, it's limp and only the top half to raise the volume works. What exactly will need to be replaced after i take the dash off?

here's an exploded view of the dash switch - looks like the radio switches are
part of a single unit "SWITCH ASSY., RADIO REMOTE"

so when the rocker switch is no longer able to turn the volume down it means paying over 200 dollars to fix it? That's F-ed up

Or you could find a car in a junkyard, or someone in the marketplace who's parting out theirs.

here is how i remove them,
use pick tool to pop out plugs inside dash bezel area, remove screws
loosen front 2 steering column bolst, remove rear 2 steering column bolts - this will allow the steering wheel to fall down and rest on seat, carefully pull guage cluster out around edges, you can get it out slightly then pull the audio control side out, disconnect start button wires and pop it out, there are 2-3 screws that hold it in take them out, next twist it and it comes out the front. reverse for assembly (less than 5 min)

I doubt you'll find that you can buy every single sub-component cheaply from the dealer for any car out there. As stated above, there are ways of getting parts for less.

and once you get them off, is there a spring that sits behind the knob?
