wanna get rid of the stereo cover
I hate that thing, specially since I installed the sony with flip open active black pannel. I don't need 2 levels of stealt for a stereo so I'd like to get rid of that stereo cover. I know I can take the cover out but then that leaves me with the ugly inside or it and I'd like to cover it up with something. I've seen pics here where someone has had a leather (?) covered custom bondo thing made for this purpose. I'd like to be able to do this myself so I'd like some ideas on materials I can use for this.
Thanks!
Thanks!
There are a couple of things you can try....
Cut the door off at the hinges to leave the base intact. For a quick buildup, you can use plastic pieces purchased in sheets form the local hobby store. For a slower buildup, but really cheap, put layers of white glue on until you get the depth necessary for your application and sand. Use bondo in the same manner. Lots of ways to do this. Paint afterwards...

thanks! i think i'll just cut the stock door out and move the stereo forward so it alligns with the cover. I hope I can just buy a stock cover cuase my car's a lease and will have to bring it back to stock later. Or I can just use some other material to replace the stock cover and then cut it and cover the whole thing with some stuff (venyl?). Ok, now my mind's working I'm sure I'll find a good way to do this :-)
PS: I PMed you about friday.
