Any 2002 S2000 owners out there that have upgraded the stock stereo by replacing the stock head unit? I would like to buy a 2002 head unit. Not sure what a fair price would be....how's $150? Tell me what you want for it. I guess the stereos also have a security code in them. Sounds like I would need the code supplied too to get it working. Anybody interested?

what would be the added benifit to upgrading to a 2002 headunit? what will change, more input's outputs? more option's more what? i'm sure that headunits are available everywhere noone likes the stock one, but me having only an 01 i'm interested in more sometihng

 

They upped the output power by 10 watts per channel. It plugs in like the your 01. The front door speakers/tweeters are driven by the front channels. The rear channels are free for rear speakers.

 

I just got Black2k2's head unit this morning. Other changes between the units are that the faceplate is a dark silver instead of black and the whole layout of the buttons is different. I think the layout is better. There aren't any little bass/treble/balance/fader knobs anymore. I think you push a "TUNE/MODE" button to adjust those settings. There are just two knobs on the face; a POWER/VOLUME knob on the left side and a TUNE/MODE knob on the right side. I'll try to post a pic later tonight when I get home. Or shoot, maybe I can do it here at work. Give me a few minutes.....

what does that bring the total wattage to... and will it power the rear speakers, what's the power split then? If i were to install the 02 radio in the 01 would it take any rewiring? or is it as i hope just a couple screws pull out, plug in an screw it back in??? thanks!!
