Default What alarm do you have and why?

Just picked up an 07 s2k. My first alteration will be an alarm. It's been about 7 years since I have even thought about buying an aftermarket alarm. I know I would like 2 way paging and a proximity sensor. What else should I look for? Also, there was a time when Clifford was the alarm to have, now it seems like everyone is owned by the same company. Which is the best?

I have an Autopage alarm with shock, proximity, starter kill, etc. I'm sure it's not the best but the price was ok, and I trusted the installer. No problems with it at all.

I have the autopage RS1000. The range on it is amazing!!! Probably 2nd to none. I also have a proximity sesnsor hooked up to it. I have been an installer for about 5 years now and I felt that this product was very installer friendly

i got a dei w/ prox. range is horrible but that might be because i mounted it inside the a-pillar. i got this one because it was within my price range and i knew how to install it. imo, thats a big factor. i know how everything is wired and know its done correctly.

i bought 50ft. of black 16 guage wire and used that instead of the color coded wire. why? because like you said, dei owns most alarms and the wire colors are basically universal. i also have two sirens..one inside and one outside. it might be a bit overkill, but i don't worry about my car.

What you want the alarm for with help decide what you get. I have a simple alarm with motion detectors mainly to keep people from reaching into my car when the top or windows are down. Some people want to be paged when the car is being disturbed.

For two way paging and such, people like Compustar.
