what is all needed to use "torque" app?

i am searching but can't find if i need anything besides the http://www.amazon.com/XiTech-ELM327-.../dp/B003MQ89X4

i see people commonly buy 3 items together, are the 2 items needed(2.0 usb dongle and the other scanner??)

only need the bt adapter in the obd2 port to run torque. hope your using a tablet. looks way better.

and yes that will work.

Thanks iDashX,..I don't have a tablet,...really only want it to pull a code at the moment .
Is that Elm bt adapter the most common piece??? I have been reading too much about only 50% or adapters working and didn't want problems.

ELM327 is popular because of the price. I've had no problems with mine but I've seen plenty of negative feedback. I'm guessing that build quality varies quite a bit but that shouldn't be surprising considering the price. If you decide to go with it then make sure you're buying from a reputable shop that will help you out in case you run into problems. The pricier alternatives like the PLX Kiwi have quite a jump in cost from what I recall.

i went ahead and ordered one.
got the BAFX Products version....had the most purchases/positive reviews compared to the other brands and it ships from California vs China
