Default What is the best 6.5 speaker for AP2

Hi guys,

Been reading a lot of reviews on the web for a pair of 6.5 speakers for my Ap2.

I've also listened them personally at best buy. (Polk, Kicker, Kenwood and Pioneer) But still can't decide.

I had a pair of Alpine speakers on a AP1 i had, and I barely noticed the difference between them and the OEM ones. So this time i want some recommendations. My stereo is stock oem. Also im on the budget of $150 for a couple of 6.5.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks!!

u need more than just speakers to improve sound quality.

Are u gonna be running amp or new head unit?

if it just stock HU and no amp i dont think u r gonna notice a different with jsut changing out the speakers

this is what i planning on getting for audio upgrade

speakers

If you are strict about your budget I would get this, Polk DB 6501 http://www.woofersetc.com/p6133/DB6501--Po...nt-Speakers.htm

I would either get the Polk MM6501 which is very efficient so it plays well just off headunit power. You should be able to get these for not too much more than ur budget. http://www.woofersetc.com/p7105/MM6501--Po...aker-System.htm

Else I am heavily considering Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine Series

i think the results will just be the same as your ap1 when u changed out the speaker only. i would just save up for HU and speakers + modify DCI... IMO

finally settled for a Alpine CDE-102 and Polk DXI650, the upgrade was far better than the OEM equipment sound.

Thanks.

i work for best buy as a car audio installer, in my civic and now in my s2000 i have infinity reference 6.5's. they are great sounding speakers and the extra power of my alpine radio make them sound even better!

if you upgrade your speakers and leave the OEM headunit your pretty much wasting your time.

You should upgrade the headunit first, (with side controls). A good headunit will make the OEM speakers sound MUCH better.

Yes just get the alpine dci
if you want even better sound quality, get an amp. Speakers won't sound their best until they get powered by an amp
