Default What car alarm to buy?

Hey I am in the market for an pager or even a plain alarm, but what is the best kind for our kind of car, I have heard of the clifford g5 having a proximity sensor in it but not too sure, so just post up the alarms you have, how much was it, and how good is it at protecting your car, thank you.....

P.S. I already searched and the search function here is crazy returning me with like 100 page!!!

I own the Compustar 2 Way pager alarm system. According to Compustar, they have a radius of approximately 1.25 mi, this is an overexaggeration. I estimate the maximum radius to be approximately 2 blocks(on my heyday ).

Anyways, to answer your interrogation, I wholeheartedly believe that my alarm system is one of the best, if not the best 2 way pager alarm system on the market.

Other quality 2 way pager alarm systems: Audio Prestige and Directed Alarm.

Postscript: most alarms are capable of adding a proximity sensor, including my Compustar 2 Way pager system.

Postscript # 2: Don't buy those inferior 2 way pager alarms of Ebay. If the price is too cheap, you know which ones to avoid purchasing.

You can put a prox detector on any decent alarm. If you search in the electronics section you'll get a bunch of stuff, but people here seem to like Compustar, DEI, etc.

Some ppl prefer paging systems, but if a thief is dedicated, no alarm will stop him/her. I settled with a simple dual-stage noisemaker with an interior motion detector, curcuits to all doors and hood, and a hidden kill switch to keep my car from being hotwired. Also on the list are seat locks and wheel locks.

You know, it would be kick ass if someone made an alarm that dialed your cell phone number when it was triggered.
