I just installed a new head unit. I noticed an electronics box that sits just below the factory radio (but is completely separate from the radio). What is this? I just want to make sure it's not some sort of crappy factory amp for the speakers.

 

Well if it is the one with all the yellow connectors I am pretty sure it is your SRS system. Not a good idea to play around with it.

 

Thansk for the info. I certainly have no intention of messing around with any electronics without knowing what they are (ever since that incident with the fork and the power outlet . . .)

 

Yes, that is your Airbag controller module. Stay away!
