Default What size speaker wire to use with a sub?

In a few days I will be installing a JL w6 6ohm DVC sub in a JL audio stealthbox. I searched the forum to try to figure out what size speaker wires I need to be using to connect the amp to the sub and to wire the coils in parallel, but all I could find were references to speaker wire sizes in full range/component set-ups (sorry if I didn't search well enough).

The Kenwood amp chosen for this application puts out 400 watts RMS @ 2 ohms and 200 RMS @ 4 ohms, so I'm assuming the 3 ohm effective load from the parallel DVCs will make the amp send 300 watts. I would like any advice you have to offer me on choosing what size wire I should be using for this application.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi: I would go with 10 gage and not wory about it. You will never notiuce the differience. The power wires to theamo will have to be bigger but that depends on the lenger of the wire.

10 Gauge is a good size.
