Default What would be a good choice for amp system setup?

I'm kind of a novice to this car audio stuff.

I currently have the K series Focal tweets and drivers.

I have a PPI 4125 amp that powered my integra.

I currently want to get my S2K system up and running.

The PPI 4125 is way to large to fit in the trunk and it is a 4 channel amp.

What is a good amp to buy that would be moderatly sized to run the Focals and a subwoofer? What should I do?

Thanks.

Can you give a little more info, such as sub size/brand, the wattage limits on the focals.

I run the PPI 2125 for my components and it fits easily in both the toolwell and spare tire area. Those amps are fantastic. If you can fit it , I'd go with that and later if you want S-Pods you're set. PAS2KNut fabricates a flat vertical piece that replaces the curved plastic bulge of the spare tire. You may be able to get the 4125 vertical across the trunk -- it's only 25" x 10" x 2.5". It really shouldn't be too tight a fit. OTTOMH, the trunk well is about 23" across so you should be fine vertically across the back of the trunk.

Here is the flat vertical piece FLithcroft is referring to.

As for the amp, i just got this Alpine 4 channel, 125 watts per channel, and its pretty small. Check it out.

Where would I buy the "fabric material" to cover the wood?

It depends on how much power you need in the sub. Assuming you get a very efficient oone which is par for the course now you could probably get a single 4 channel amp that's bridgeable down to 2 ohms.

I'm running a PG titanium 475 and is small enough to fit on an amp rack on the left side of the trunk (just to the left of the spare tire). That's enough to feed 75 watts to my CDT Eurosports and enough left over to run 250 watts for a 10" DLS or Lotus Seas sub I plan to install later. 250-300 watts doesn't sound like a lot but if you're not doing SPL it should be more then sufficient. That amp or it's sibling the ti500 can easily be found on ebay for around 250 bucks or so.

It's sold as a complete kit. You just swap out the old for the new.

I'll add another good choice for Focals is Audison. Every amp they make is great. My choice for bang for buck is Soundstream. I'd buy one again for a new system without a second thought. But, if it were me I'd still make the PPI work. It's a bit colder than the other two I listed but the SQ is fantastic.

I run a JL Audio 300/4 and it fits up over the fuel tank. Doesn't overheat and is very stealth. I run MB Quart PCE components and a JL Stealthbox off it. I am happy with the sound.

Is that location an accessibilty nightmare? Or no?
Amps Ive had in the past required regular tinkering...

Access requires you to pop the trunk panel on the left hand side. There are 6 clips to remove and the panel pops right out.
