What would happen if I unplug the VAFC from the harness?
Just wondering if the ECU would kick in and "re-teach" itself, or if something bad would happen. BTW in case someone is wondering I have the harness that bridges the ECU and the VAFC so that I didn't have to splice any wires and kill my warranty, plus the harness is a hell of a lot easier install. Thanks
If you remove only the VAFC from the harness, but leave the harness pluged in, the car will not run. If you remove the whole thing, you'll be fine. I dont' know about the re-learning, but I would imagine it wouldnt be a very drastic change. You can always remove the hazard fuze for a few seconds to reset the ECM and start from scratch.
Why wouldn't the car run? I thought the harness was acting as a bridge sine the ECU is still plugged in more or less, with just something in the middlue of the ECU and the connections.
The VAFC sends signals to the ECU that have been cut off from the car. Not many but the car will know this and not like it.
Car will RUN but you will get an immediate ECL!!! I did that for like 3 seconds and was like OOPS!!!!!! Pluged in the V-AFC reset the ECU all was good.

If you just unplug the VAFC itself it will run like crap. The map sensor wire is split to hook up the VAFC and when you unplug it, there will be no MAP signal to the ECU. The car will bog and run really rich.
