Thumbs up Where to attach remote turn on wire on Stock HU?

Which wire comming from the Stock HU do I tap into for a remote turn on wire? I have the harness diagram, but I'm not sure which is a switched 12V source. Thanks.

A quick glance at the shop manual says the wire is pin 3 and it's green/red which I believe means green with red stripe.

I would double check that with a volt meter before hooking anything up though.

Not sure but I think you can use the Antenna Amp wire as a remote turn on source.

using the antenna only turns on the amp when I'm listening to the radio

GRN/RED says "Radio remote switch", but I thought that was for the radio controls.

WHT/BLU does say "Constant power" however. Could this be it? Constant power means there's only gonna be power when the HU is actually switched on right?

there is no amp turn on lead for the stock HU. it was never meant to support an amp....

i do not think the 'constant power' lead is what you want. chances are VERY likely that supplies constant 12V power for the clock, etc.

your best bet is to get an amp that powers up when it sees a RCA signal or just tying into the accessory power, knowing that your amps will always be on if your car is switched to run or accessory.

honestly, that's not a great option either.

the radio would have 2 power feeds. 1 is constant and 1 accessory.

i'm at work now and don't have time to search it up. look for a post by modifry or macgyver. i believe both of them (mac for sure) have a pinout for the harness available on their websites. both keep links to their sites in their sigs.

you'd have to splice into the accessory power line.

best of luck, hopefully someone will jump in and give you specifics, as i just don't have time to do it now.

nm, went back and read your original post...

if you have the diagram already, you should see 2 powers... 1 constant, 1 switched or accessory.

you want the switched or accessory one.
