Although it is an awesome place to mount, it might not work as well for all headunits. For example.....Johns alpine has the remote sensor on the top towards the middle of the headunit. My Alpine (9807) is on the right side of the headunit. So basically, it is recommended that the eye is aimed at the remote sensor for optimal performance. So the idea is the same.....just that you should drill that hole closer to the remote sensor on the headunit.

- I ordered my DCI from LUCID, just waiting for it to come in... no emails stating when its going to arrive...
- which brings me to a question, what does the EYE need to 'see'? does it act like a remote???

The eye is what transmits the signal to the remote sensor on the headunit. Look at the top of any remote...and youll see somekind of eye....either looks like an led bulb, or like a piece of black glass.

Dave has a good point. The spot where I mounted it (that suggestion came from DJ Qube BTW) is good for most Alpine HU but I'm not sure about others you'd have to test it to make sure it will work right for you. Just leave the radio door off and test it out in different spots then install it in a working location.
