where to get fiberglass for sub boxes
This begs the question is this your first fiberglass project?
Get stitched fiberglass mat (www.Selectproducts.com) for making the first layer. Its very strong and easy to use and doesn't come apart unless you cut it up. Then use either a heavy weight fiberglass mat or just chop mat. You can also you a 4mm filler which works great or just layer after layer of mat to make sure the box is nice and strong. You'll want to make sure its no less than 1/4 inch thick.
Also make sure your resin is less than 90 days old otherwise you can run into problems with it.
Let me know if you need any help.

I would suggest doing your research before ordering from select products. I just cross checked one of their products (12oz. biax) and it was $24.61/yard. UScomposites charges $8.25/yard.
edit* checked some more products and these people are clearly smoking crack. seems like they prey upon people who know little about the subject.
FGPVA10
$40.30
PVA MOLD RELEASE 1 GAL.
compared to
REX- -PVA105 1 Gallon $14.50
please dont get taken for a ride by these guys.

Wow that place is cheap... umm... learn something knew everyday. However as is turns out I've been dealing with Select for many years I've been to both of there sites the old one and the new one. I've meet and had nice discussions with the owner and so on. They my be a little on the pricey side but they have given me nothing be the Greatest customer service!
I have no idea what kind of service you get from www.uscomposites.com and maybe I'll give them a try and see what happens, but you have really given me nothing but part numbers and a price... there's always a cheaper place to get something... doesn't mean you should buy from them.
I'm sure you'll have some other comment about them but honestly it doesn't matter because I trust them and they have always given me great service.
I'll check out www.uscomposites.com and see what they bring to the table.

In addition to the online sources listed above, for getting supplies locally, try West Marine. You'll pay a little more but if you find yourself short of materials in the middle of a project, it's good to be able to run out and get what you need w/o having to wait.
ps For mold release i've had good luck using plain unflavored PAM

Like you Darknight I do composite work for a living and when I saw those prices I was shocked. I've never had a problem with uscomposites. They are my main supplier for everything other than carbon and I do about $4000 per month through them. I get my carbon from AVTcomposites for about $1800 per roll even with the shortage.
