here is my dilemma


will an 09 s2k radio work in an 04?

i have an 04 s2k that is basically oem. it still has the oem clarion 4xj2 head unit. well i decided to switch it with an 09 s2k oem clarion 4xj4 headunit. i have gotten 12 codes from my local honda dealer and none of these codes work!


the dealer also told me that some radios were used in different applications, and each different application has its own code. so if the 4xj4 was used for a honda crv, the code would be different if that same radio was used for an s2k. (i don't get why but i suppose for security or whatever reasons honda did so this way)

the dealer also told me that this particular model of radio was used for 12 different models of cars! (usdm and non usdm cars)

i m stuck! please help!
