will a 12" subwoofer fit in the tool kit well?
I'd like to put a JL Audio 12w3v2 dual 2 ohm (because i'll bridge it) into the space taken up by the tool well, but have it flush mount with the rest of the trunk floor so that I can fit groceries and stuff in the trunk. I'm thinking I'll put a piece of lexan over it to make it flush with the trunk floor. Do you think its possible, or should I get a 10" subwoofer instead?
Squeezer- the sub you are looking at requires 1.0-1.5 cu.ft. of volume. If you do not cut the liner, will will be just at or slightly below JL's min. recommendation. This, of course, is assuming that you want to keep it just below the "harddeck" like Kwando's pic.
The good thing about JL subs is that they response well to a relatively large range of volumes.
Without the liner in place, the actual volume can be as much as 2.0 cu.ft. without going above the "hard deck."
