Will a speaker with a 3.08" mounting depth fit with a 3/4" spacer?

I read on one of these boards that you need something with a 2.5" depth. If you mean something to offset it forward, I'd check to see if the speaker at full extension will hit the inside of the door panel.

That's going to be awfully tight, maybe pushing the door panel. Mine is 2.78" depth and I don't think there is any more room to be had without cutting the door panel.

Lets do some quick math:

door skin to window is 54mm (at the top of the speaker opening, 61mm at the bottom).
a 3/4" spacer adds 19mm.

total of 73-80mm mounting depth. However, we can't just use 80mm and be happy because that's only at the very bottom of the window travel. So we go with 73mm to be on the safe side.

3.08in is 78.23mm.

It might fit, but I would probably use a 1" spacer to make sure.

Why did you bump this thread? Did you even bother to read my post where I answered (quite definitively) the question?

Whats the max spacer you can install without interfering with the door panel? Im thinking of upgrading my speakers soon, but havent done the research till now..

Well, to be safe, I would just go with 3/4". Anything between 3/4" and 1" is going to require you to build 2 spacers (1 x 3/4" and 1 x 1/8" etc). Unless you have a super-amazing router and jig and $$$ to blow on MDF you won't really ever use again...
