I did some search and found lots of good info, but didn't see any posts with info on where to mount the Terk tuner and Alpine adapter. Is there anywhere to mount behind the HU? I read on one of the post to mount under seat, where can I get the right wiring to extend everything that far?
As for the antenna, I read that you can mount it in the secret compartment and that the wiring is already there (CD Changer?), is that true? I prefer somewhere where it's hidden.
Thanks for any help! Pics would be great for an audio novice like me!
Mine is located under the dashboard on the passenger side. There is an access panel just above the passenger footwell under the dashboard and my sat radio adapter sits right inside of there. My antenna is on top of the dashboard in the middle just behind the windshield, so the wiring just goes up through the dash.
I am at work, so can't give you a picture right now.
Cool, thanks! I'll take a look and see if I can mount it there. Pics would be very helpful!
Did you use something like 3M mounting strips or actually screw them on? Did you run the antenna wire through the vents or is there another opening there?
Great, thanks Alan! How did you manage to run the antenna wire through the dash??? I removed the panel and kinda figured out where to mount the two devices but need to figure out what to do with the antenna now! I might try to run the wire to the secret compartment like others have and see how that works out.
Hmm - this is where I have to confess to being at the $tarbuck$ across the street when the antenna wire was threaded through the dash. From what I saw of other parts of the install job, run a fish tape up from underneath the dash in between the foam at the edge of dash and the dashbaord. Tape the end of the antenna lead onto the fish tape and drag it back down through the dash assembly.
