Default Yet another help me decide on a system thread...

Here's the deal... I currently have an Alpine 7893 from my old car that I plan on reinstalling in the S2000. I want to replace my components and add and amplifier when I do this.. I have done a little research but am having some trouble deciding..

As far as speakers, I'm torn between the following:

Boston Acoustic FS60 Components: $130ish on ebay, $189 local.
The only thingthat is confusing about these is Boston's website doesn't give a max RMS for them. They just say "suggested amplifier power range: 15-150 watts". The sales rep at the local shop said that these have a softer dome tweeter so they're more forgiving when switching from different types of music.

Infiniti Perfect 6.1s:$ $180ish on ebay. Heard good reviews about these, haven't actually heard them in person.

Polk Audio DB6500s: $199 on crutchfield

Amplifiers:

JL Audio E2150: 45x2@4 Ohms..$189 locally. $150ish on ebay...only concern is ouput seems low compared to the other amps i'm considering.

US Acoustic USB-2150: 150x2@4 Ohms - $150 from Crutchfield. Supposed to be a good bang for the buck amp, not audiophile quality, but very decent.

Alpine MVR-T420: 110x2@4 ohms - $220 on ebay, heard good reviews about this as well.

I'm looking to keep this around the 400 dollar range, and plan on attempting the install myself (first time doing it, but doesn't look too terrible)...

Anyone have any suggestions/input on this?

OK.....people will argue some of these points, but, what the hey.....

First of all, get the kappas. They are a much better value and sound better than the lower line bostons. If you were looking at the pros, that would be a different story.

As for the amp....JL still makes 45w x2 amps??? What are you going to power with that, headphones??? Garbage....let the misinformed use that stuff.

Get either.....this amp.....if you are NOT planning on getting a sub, or want a seperate amp for it.....

Or get this amp if you want to power your speakers, and have an option to just plug a sub in later.

Hope that helps.....

No mounting issues with the perfects....they fit, well, perfect.

As for soundstream, they are as good as they have ever been if not better. I am using soundstream on A LOT of installs that I am doing, as well as other members, and have nothing but praise for them. Some have even said that they are BETTER than JL (ive been saying this for years)......

You can get the kappas for 215 bucks.

Nah, plug and play........I used the stock honda baskets (I cut off the baskets and left the ring) so that I can use the stock speaker mount holes rather than drill new ones. Other than that, nothing.

That would work great. I didnt see that. Good find. You can have 100 x 2 for the fronts, and 200 or more for a sub.

Good, b/c i already ordered it! THat's what I was hoping to hear. 110x2 for the fronts, and apparently 440 for a sub? Is it possible to do it like that (4 ohms for 2 channels, 2 ohms for the other two?)
