You will need to get an adapter to convert the CD changer input on the back of the radio into an auxillary input.

The CD changer input IS the auxiliary input. You need a 3.5mm Output (headphone jack) ----> RCA converter, then an RCA converter ----> Honda Auxiliary Input (CD changer input). I believe this will be the only way to hard wire it....

This will not charge the unit, and will not have the best SQ (but will be better than an FM transmitter), as the signal will be amped twice, by rather crappy amps. This is why so many people use iPods in their cars, because you can get the pre-amped signal and the units also charge the iPod as well... Sort of like a portable hard drive for the car....

Let me know if I missed anything.

If you go aftermarket get one with a usb input and an extra sync cable for the zune and you are set. I've been looking a lot lately for the same thing. I think I'm going to wait and see if someone makes a HU that will interface with the Zune the way many do with the ipod. Good luck.

unfortunately, you have chosen the one product segment where apple is light-years ahead of microsoft in terms of market share. that being the case, you can understand why electronics companies making head units are working so hard to come up with a user interface that integrates the ipod's functionality as much as possible... there are over 100mln ipods out there. the relative merits of the zune notwithstanding, there are effectively zero of them out there in the minds of electronics manufacturers. until it grabs a reasonable share of market, 3rd party companies are going to be reluctant to build much dedicated to it. at this point, a usb connection with power is about as good as you can hope for.

the SNHOND3 is what you'll need to connect the back of the headunit to any headphone jack. thats what I use for my Creative Zen.

I might have one for sale, PM me if interested.

Will the head unit recognize the file structure on the Zune through USB? It is probably not the same as a standard USB thumb drive.... I dont know...

Your Zune could be charged if you get a car adapter for it.... You would just have 2 wires running into it, and your 12v accessory outlet would probably always be in use....

I just installed a Pioneer Premier p690ub and it uses a usb port and I believe it is compatible with the Zune. It accepts wma files also so this might be your best bet.

There are also several head units that have a 3.5mm input on the face of the unit.... Then all you would need is a female-male converter, and it will plug right in. Again, not charging...
