2006 Standalone ECU Options
I have a 2006 with a F22c (first year or DBW) and am looking for a good standalone ECU as a base for many upcoming projects and toys, originally I was looking at AEM but they stop at 2005, are there any true standalone alternatives to a Kpro from Hondata?
Actually, very soon MP Tuning will be releasing a plug and play harness kit for the late model DBW cars using a specially modified AEM 30-6052 EMS. Prototype kits are currently running on multiple test cars right now as the kit is finalized.
It allows full control of fuel, timing, VTEC changeover, fuel pump, rev lmiter, etc...
Stock ECU still controls the DBW throttle and dashboard.
All stock sensors can be used - MAP, Coolant Temp, Air Temp, etc...
If users wish to use the stock TPS signal from the DBW throttle assembly, 1 single wire from the harness must be tee'd into one of the TPS signal wires near the stock ECU. Honda uses a separate DBW controller on these cars which communicates over a serial data line to the ECU so there are no 0-5V TPS signals going in or out of the ECU connectors and hence the need for adding a wire in.
Only two issues with the current prototype kits: 1. Check Engine Light is on all the time. 2. VSM is disabled. These are minor issues and will most like not be resolved in the final version of the kit that gets released.
Also, the harness is long enough that the AEM box is not stuffed under the dashboard but is located under the driver's seat and features an expansion plug near the stock ECU connector for additions such as TPS signal, UEGO, Boost Control Solenoid, iVTEC, etc...

You can also try to find a KPro dual harness setup. That would enable nitrous and all tuning a KPro offers. Hondata discontinued it when the Flashpro came out, but I still think it is better than Flashpro.

Otherwise
I love my FlashPro!
And if you find a used one its just a little more than flash pro.
