Default Adding fuel to closed loop

i noticed that changing fuel values has no effect while on closed loop, since ECU targets the preset AFR as 14.67. i think this is normal since the main objective of closed loop mode is maximum fuel economy. after adding fuel to some regions in the low cam fuel map, i noticed immediate negative STFT values.

then i restored the low cam fuel map back to original and changed the closed loop target lambda value from 14.67 to 13.5, trying to make closed loop rich. however, nothing changed and ECU tried to reach 14.67 target AFR.

i am using FlashPro Manager 1.1.8.5 and used the below window.

any experience with the above? is it possible that closed loop settings in FPM are not implemented for S?

if all you're trying to do is target stoich afr's throughout part throttle, do not touch the closed loop target lambda table. leave it as is. what you want to do is record a log and take a look at the short term fuel trims. make sure to log the map sensor, and the rpms so you get an idea of what part of the fuel map needs to be adjusted.

hi brian,

thanks for the reply.

let me explain my main objective: one of the cylinders is getting knock only thru a certain RPM&MAP range. this range is in low cam and %90 closed-loop.

this is why i am trying to add fuel to this particular fuel map zone. however, ECU immediately trims (STFT) that extra fuel due to closed-loop working principle.
consequently, i changed (enrichened) closed-loop lambda target in order to check if overall fuel increase will eliminate knock.

my datalogs show that ECU still works for 14.67, overriding my value, meaning that no fuel increase happens.

that is what i am trying to do; have ever tried changing closed-loop operation with FlashPro before?

You shouldn't be adding fuel in an event of knock. Remove timing in the trouble area.

you are right, first remove timing; if this still does not work, add fuel. specifically for F20C, i tried to lower knock sensor threshold in order to let knocking subsystem panic and increase retard. unfortunately decreasing ignition & increasing retard does not work. in a subsecond period of time when i step on gas (TPS=%18-%25), several knocks from cylinder 2 come out.

problematic zone is between 2200-4300RPM and 50-80kPa. is it possible that this is due to CAI resonance? CAI is a Simota.

there is no abnormal knocking throughout the remaining map ranges. by the way, there is no audible knock present.

if you'd like, send the calibration and a log and i can look over it.

You could post the fuel and timing maps for use.
