Default AEM Data

I'm using AEMdata and find it nearly impossible to work with.

Is there a guide or how-to for using AEMdata to read logs?

For example, looking at Engine Speed the range of data are 3k-25k ?!?!

How do I make these numbers make sense?

Still trying to make sense of at least the vehicle speed and engine speed.

The vehicle speed indicated doesn't correlate to mps, mph, or kph. I read old threads on the VSS sensor output and tried to use that information to make sense of the displayed value to no avail.

In the end I used the max speed indicated by aemdata and compared to known max speed via gps and created a correction factor.

GPS max speed/aemdata max speed = 1.54

In maths- 'vehicle speed' * 1.54 and labelled as corrected vehicle speed.

I thought maybe engine speed was displayed as crank tooth pulses per second… I've read that the crank has 12 and 24 teeth, not sure which is correct but neither made sense. I know the cam has 3 teeth, if I assume the engine speed display is counting cam tooth pulses per second then the value I get for engine RPM looks to be close but I don't believe it's correct. So what is aemdata actually displaying for engine speed? And vehicle speed?

Log was corrupted. Had to reload firmware to EMS and reset internal log.

Logs are again normal.

Having the same issue. PC logging is fine, but ECU log data looks corrupt. I reloaded the firmware to the EMS, but the problem still exists.

OP - what firmware are you using? did you have to manually reset the ECU log, or does that get whipped when you reload the firmware? Thanks!
