Default any ap1 users using kpro

Just looking to see how many actually have it on their cars ((just those using the rsx ecu)...Just wanted to get your opinions, how it is, was there anything else you ended up needing besides the oem parts listed? anything you don't like about it? thanks

I have it. JustinC & Kyushin both have it as well. Few others on the board. Post some real questions and we can pretty much answer anything you got.

thE additional sensors that hondata listed on their page that i need, did you ended up buying additional parts? (any issues with installing those?)

Also, the tune that it comes with, is it exactly like an oem s2000 ecu, or does it require tuning right off the bat just to get it running.

thanks

The system really works well. No parts other than what Hondata has listed are required for the install, however I would install a new valve cover gasket with the new cover, and fresh oil and filter. Also a tube of Hondabond or equalivilant sealant will be needed to reseal the timing cover and oil pan. Install is very easy, everything just bolts-up and plugs in. Just FYI, all S2000 K-pro's use the modified RSX-S ECU.

THanks for the input guys! reason i was asking is in the future I'll be going back to boost (turbo hopefully =),i was just trying to see how user friendly it is for a completely stock car right now. Basically i just want it to run like stock and not worry about the air pump related cel and be obd2 compliant at the same time. THanks!

There is an AP1 tune that comes preloaded in the Kpro software, not the ECU. It will start and run the car out of the box, but it should definitely be tuned (ran lean on my virtually stock setup)

Very very friendly, it starts, runs and idles just like stock. I put some ID 725 injectors in and it idles and runs much much better than stock.

It does cost more than AEM but with the user friendly interface and the OEM like functioning that isnt tuner dependent, its a win.

I have it! just installed it about a week ago actually.. i have no clue how to tune yet.. but from watching the videos i played w. the parameters a bit.

I would advise getting a new o ring (the one that sits right in the timing chain cover) and crank seal.. for the Justin-Case factor.

they send u a wiring harness that runs from the ecu to the crank sensor, and to the valve cover cam sensor..

I unpinned the wires from the part that goes to the ecu (6 wires, 3 to crank, 3 to cam), and dressed both sets w. shrink wrap (i didn't heat it up n shrink it how ever..)

Maybe its something i haven't understood yet.. but when ever i start the car my temp gauge is all lite up.. but then it slowly goes down to 1 bar.. fully functional though.. but messes w. me n idk y..

yeah, that is normal, sometimes it starts from the left, other times from the right
