For your own knowledge, you may also want to have a look at your cat as the PO may have changed to high flow cat or test pipe for the tune. My understanding is tuning the ECU with a stock cat / exhaust doesn't gain much but I could be wrong on that.

With a stock cat, you cant lower vtec bellow 5300rpm before you start losing power. Its a real obstruction when secondary cam breathing is at play.

That's a rabbit hole my wallet is not ready to jump into quite yet. And if I did I would want to modify the tune again anyway.

It did have a test pipe that I have removed and replaced with stock cat.

I decided to buy another ecu as the cheaper and option. The ecu comes with ignition module as well so it should just be plug and play. It would be nice to have the flashpro but in reality I don't have plans to do any modifications in the near future and if I decide to change my mind I can always resell and get the flashpro. Thank you all for the input.

Keep us in the loop on this. The ECU stores a lot of data that will all be from another car, not yours when you swap it.

I was able to get the ECU and ignition swapped out yesterday. Everything seems to be fine except for a low idle which I am hoping the ECU will adjust as it learns whats going on with my car. It now has the "VTEC YO" at the normal 6k rpm and fuel cutoff is how it is stock when I hit the rev limiter. I will let you guys know if anything adverse happens.

Did your dashboard mileage change with the new ECU. Maintenance minder? (I don't know where this data is stored as you might guess from the question. )

The mileage along with the trip mileages are stored in the cluster so that did not change. The maintenance light did need to be reset however so I lost that until my next oil change but no big deal. After driving it around for awhile today the idle is continuing to get better and better the more I drive.
