Any tips from the seasoned users for us newbies?
I'm not a seasoned user, or much of a tuner, but I do have a tip for part throttle tuning on the street!

1) Go to an area where you won't have to deal with ANY traffic at all (streets of an undeveloped neighborhood, abandoned parking lot, etc.)
2) Hit the datalog button
2) Accellerate at VERY, VERY light steady-state throttle in 3rd gear from 1500 to whatever RPM you can reach before the end of the street or parking lot (hopefully over 4500 RPMs)
3) Repeat at a slightly different throttle rate, and try to hit even higher RPMs
4) Repeat step 3 until you are bored. (Don't corrupt the datalog with any hard accelleration or heavy throttle)
5) End the datalog
6) Go home to spend some time with FlashPro Manager

FlashPro Manager will make suggestions to the fuel maps, and only some of them are "good". I zoom in on the datalog so that I can see the full "ramp" of each accelleration event full screen, and examine the STFT (short term fuel trim) across the whole RPM range. I compare the STFT to the suggested fuel changes to see if the suggestions make sense. If they make sense, then I apply them. For example, if the STFT is +3%, and the suggested fuel change is +3%, then I increase the fuel value by 3%. However, if the STFT is +3%, and the suggested fuel change is -1%, I may not make a change.

I also look at the shape of the fuel curve to see if that makes sense. Sometimes FlashPro Manager makes suggestions that would cause load lines to cross, which would probably not be good.

Again, I'm new to part throttle tuning, so everything I have to share should be taken with a grain of salt.

as far as the idle learn, I follow whats stated in the manual.
rev to 3 thousand rpm until the radiator fan turns on and then let it idle for 5 minutes and if the radiator fan turns on within that five minutes add that time that the fan runs on to the 5 minutes.

What is the point of doing that? I haven't noticed any issues with idle after a reflash, and I'm sure it would work itself out on its own eventually anyway.

Do you live at a high altitude?

I did it because after a flash I would get idle that wouldn't hold 900rpm it would dip below after a little rev and get close to stalling but it never did. I'm pretty much at sea level.

It's normal for the idle to be unstable after an ECU reset, but it will quickly stabilize. I would rather have an idle that wasn't perfect than to contaminate my oil with extended idling.

^FWIW, I looked through the manual and cannot find instructions for the idle learn thing.
