Default E Manage and Immobilizer issues

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know why the Immobilizer would turn on while trying to install an E manage Ultimate? The shop doing my install and tune has run into an issue with the Immobilizer activating and not allowing them to start the car with the emanage installed or without it.

I know I will need to take the car to the dealer to have the keys reprogrammed, but how do I get around this issue in the install process.

Thanks

I think they botched the install. The emanage doesn't connect to anything remotely related to the immobilizer. Honestly, I doubt it has anything to do with the immobilizer at all. Is there a green key light displayed on you cluster while it cranks?

Yeah light blinks while it cranks, hopefully reprogramming the keys will be all it needs to get the car running via stock ecu.

So turns out the install somehow managed to blow the coil pack fuse.... kinda weird. Never heard of that happening to anyone.

Sheesh ... what a novice mistake. There are a lot of wires in the car that are hot all the time, so disconnecting the battery is a must before installing something like this.

BTW, did you get a plug and play harness, or did they hard wire it in?

It's a plug and play. At least they are taking care of everything for me. On the upside the berk exhaust leaned out the car to between 12-12.5 when they did a stock pull so adding some fuel should pick up some good gains.

Are you saying the Berk leaned it out FROM 12-12.5 to something "leaner", or did it lean it out TO 12-12.5 from something richer? If it leaned it out TO 12-12.5 then I don't think they might need to lean it out some more.

The afr on the pull with stock ecu, berk exhaust, and intake was 12-12.5

Okay, so it's running rich, and will need to be leaned out a bit. Best power is probably going to be closer to 13 (which is leaner).
