EMS for a NA build
It looks like I will be getting a Invidia N1 Dual exhaust and a K&N intake. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get an EMS. I will be having the car tuned at inline pro in two weeks and was wondering what kind of gains I would see with an Ems. If it is a good idea, which system would you guys recommend. I have to admit my knowledge on EMS is fairly low. Thanks guys.
i love the sound and am happy with it, but i didn't fell a power gain with my CAI, which usually dynos ~5-7whp. what i mean is, although i probably did gain 5-7whp like most people, it's not enough that i can really tell the difference beyond the placebo effect when i'm just driving the car around town.
OTOH, i did feel a noticeable gain in the midrange with the addition of EMS (flashpro). and i doubt i gained much power at the very top, but if i picked up +5whp, i wouldn't really know the difference. i guess my butt dyno is pretty numb.
also, since i dropped vtec engagement to as much as 500 rpms lower (based on throttle position) and increased the redline by 300 rpms, i have up to 800rpms more of vtec powerband--(5500-8500) vs (6000-8200). that's about 35% more range, which will be really nice in auto-x. and for peace of mind, i know my a/f ratios are fine, which is a nice little bonus.
