Default Erratic idle

Car: turbocharged, tuned ap1

So I haven't driven/started my car for a little while. Replaced the TB with one from SOS, cleaned the IACV, got a new TB gasket and finally put everything back together.

In the process of putting things back together, I lost a clamp for a charge pipe silicon coupler, so obviously there is a boost leak.

I had to jump start the car to start it as battery didn't have enough juice, and it cranked right up. idled high for a while, then started idling between 1000-2000, like someone is pressing on the gas.

let it run for a little while to see if it would settle, but it didn't.

shut the car off. took off TB, IACV, might've had the TB gasket on wrong so fixed that, redid the TPS settings in KPRO (TB came with someone else's TPS), started the car.

Car starts right up, let it idle for about 20 minutes, and it stays around 1550 rpms. Idle is set at 850.

Is this because of the boost leak and the new TB? I know it needs to be retuned, but if there are any other problems I want to fix it now.

When I had a boost leak a while ago, it didn't disturb the idle, but it wasn't so close to the TB.

I don't have a wideband. Bought an RSX one, but am thinking about just getting an AEM one or something now, as I don't want to fry the ECU.

First thing I would check would be all the vacuum lines. Make sure they're all connected and going to the right places. I've had mine switched around or unhooked accidentally and it's caused weird idle problems. If that's not it then you can go from there, but its the easiest thing to check and probably the most common problem.

Yea I checked those after it was doing the "loping" btwn 1k and 2k, ill check again though.

None of the lines got removed while I was working on it.

Yeah. It can be really easy to accidentally pull one off though.

If it's not vacuum hoses then it's probably the tune. Sounds like it could be running super rich. Widebands definitely come in handy. We were messing with my tune once and it started idling really weird like that and we checked the wideband and the AF was like as low as it could go. Turns out the AEM changed the value wrong and was giving it like 400% more fuel than it needed or was intended, lol... Changing values on the AEM maps can be confusing if you're not used to the software, lol.

Yea I'm sure tune is off due to throttle body, just unsure if that would cause high idle

I would try another throttle body if you have access to one. I don't think a boost leak before the TB could cause any issues at all during idle. If the SOS TB was assembled poorly, the throttle plate might not provide enough vacuum to bring idle down. Also make sure your throttle cable has some slack in it. If there is no slack, it will prevent the throttle plate from closing all the way. If that still doesn't fix it, try plugging the line to the PCV.

i know on civics when you get the revs jumping up and down its usually the IAC. just another thing you might want to check if someone has one

sorry if it wasn't clear, revs are not jumping up and down anymore, they are just staying at ~1550 rpms

Did you bleed the coolant system? Maybe you have a air bubble in the IACV.
