factory stability control on 06+

I unchecked the VSA box in my FlashPro calibration before going to an autocross yesterday. I totally forgot to press the VSA button before my 1st run, so I ran 3 runs with VSA only partially disabled.

The results were suprisingly good! By disabling the VSA in FlashPro, it only seemed to prevent the system from cutting power. Everything else worked great, and the result was that the car was just MUCH more stable and forgiving around the autocross course. I could feel the ABS system engaging just one wheel or another, and would hear the "BRRRRRRP" sound as it happened.

I finally realized that I forgot to turn it off, so I turned it off just before my 4th, and final run. The car was much less forgiving, and I believe my time was actually slower. I'll report back about the times when the results are posted.

I plan to leave the VSA box unchecked.

I have yet to play with this feature. I typically turn off my vsa via the button. I am little curious now to. As soon as the weather around here lets up i will take the s out and try it. I am really interested in seeing your lap times with it on and off gernby.

I didn't like the way it was unchecked and although it is much less intrusive it didn't let me do what I would like to do with the car. Sometimes it's just fun to cross the finish line sideways

The VSA check box doesn't have much to do with the ability to swing out the back end. If you want to do that, you have to turn off VSA using the dash control. What I liked about unchecking it is that it NEVER cuts power from the engine when there is a minor tire slippage. I love that!

We may be miscommunicating here, but it seems like you are saying that you would not want to uncheck the box because you want to have VSA turned off completely at an autocross. If so, then I don't think you understand what the check box does. At an autocross you can still turn VSA off completely by pushing the button whether the VSA check box is checked or not in FlashPro Manager. The check box just partially disables VSA, but the VSA Off button on the dash board completely turns it off.

I don't think I'll intentionally leave VSA turned on at an autocross when I'm trying to be competitive (after the first couple runs), but I might leave it turned on for the 1st run or two.

BTW, my best time at the autocross was my 4th run, which was the only run with VSA completely turned off by the dash control. However, my 2nd run was only 0.2 seconds slower even with a passenger while VSA will still partially enabled. Since I did get a bit squirlly on my 4th run, I kind of suspect that it might have been faster without fully disabling VSA via the dash control.

This was an autocross, not a road course. I have no way of knowing how my times have improved from the header and tune. I've also made other suspension changes without having it aligned, and have non-competitive tires on it. I wound up running mid-pack in my class, which was about 1.5 seconds slower than 1st place in a 40 second course. The guy who took 1st place was in a totally stock AP2 with Direzza Star Spec's.
