Default Is the Flashpro for me?

I'm intrigued by the flashpro. On one hand, it seems like it will give me a nice performance bump and be a good bit of fun to mess around with and tune. On the other hand though, it's a little frightening. I mean, I've never tuned anything before and this thing seems to give you more than enough control to really screw something up. I would of course start as conservatively as possible and only make changes I knew were safe, slowly building up the tune, but it's still kind of nerve-racking. I could take it to a shop and have them tune it, but that seems to take a little of the fun out of the whole thing. So I guess what I'm asking is how easy is this thing to tune for someone who has only a basic understanding of tuning. I've been reading through the help file for the software, but it seems like much of it is geared towards civics and rsxs. Are there any good online resources for me to read before trying my hand at tuning? I would basically like to know as much about the process as possible before attempting anything. Thanks!

its not that bad to tune. Adjusting the a/f is fairly simple. Its the timing portion that can be tricky. Just start slow and you're get the hang of it. Just ask question if you don't know or uncomfortable with anything.

Cool, that's what I thought. I have another question. Is the "stock" setting on the flashpro basically exactly the same as not running the flashpro at all? And is the "tuned" and "toda header" settings exactly the same as the reflashes hondata does? I could then at least load the "tuned" setting and get the same benefits of the reflash to hold me over before I begin to venture into tuning it myself.

depending on your mod, I would load one of the existing map and do a quick log to make sure A/F is okay. You can even post up the log and one of us can adjust the map for you so that it will be safe.

As long as you are aware of the danger, and make small adjustments over time whle verifying the effects of those changes in the datalogs, you'll be fine. I think I have squeezed just about every last HP there is out of mine over the course of about 200 calibrations.

That's what I'll plan to do. I'm not sure if it sounds exciting or tedious!

does it give you a/f logs from your oem sensors? or do you have to add an additional wideband for that?

The FlashPro does datalog the OEM wideband sensor, so there isn't all that much benefit to an additional wideband. However, the OEM wideband isn't as accurate as a "good" external wideband.

the corrected af was calibrated to read like a extrernal wideband. From what hondata has tested, corrected reads within .1 of most external widebands. However, for fi, it is recommended to get external
