Greddy emanage ultimate VSS
Hi team,
im kinda at a wits end with my emanage ulitmate i recently got it flash tuned from brian at karcepts and got one of his harnesses along with it i have a obd1 ukdm s2000 when all plugged up car starts and runs fine until i hit vtec it throws a CEL 1-7 which is VSS it then runs funny and fuel cuts at 7000 rpm until restarted, ive checked the loom and the vss is wired up from the emanage and i cant see any issues with the wiring, when running the oem ecu i have no issues at all am i missing something here? can some one chime in im hoping its a simple fix as i cant return it and kinda wasted my $ is there any issue running a obd1 car with the harness from boomslang? i know MugenRioS2k1 knows abit maybe he can chime in too

thanks for the reply, with the ukdm cars the ecu is in the passenger side, ive tried a couple grounding locations there's a main one up behind the dash that i cant reach that looks similar to the one on the drivers side , ive tried the ecu bracket spot on the passenger side is there a better location?
Personally I would reach out to Brian at Karcepts. He has plenty of experience.
I have an 05 US Spec with the karcepts tune on the emanage.
I never grounded mine and it works without issue FYI. IMO you would be getting misfires if it was, not these VSS issues.
Even Brian says: "You don’t have to do this ground tap, so you can try as is and see how it goes. If everything runs smooth without, you are fine. Honestly 50% of the harnesses sold did not have a tap, but those who have added a tap later have reported that things seemed to run smoother."
------
ISSUES FROM NOT GROUNDING, from Brian:
"Mainly ignition cuts / misfires. It would be extremely rare to notice anything extreme under acceleration. If you do, then you have a bad EMU. However, when the car is at idle and you listen to the exhaust, you can kind of hear what I mean. It’s pretty normal with the EMU to notice this at idle w/ or w/o the ground, but with the ground it seems to run a little better. It seems to be related to the processing speed of the EMU. You should be fine without it.. Just make sure the EMU is not touching ANYTHING metal."
