Default Hondata Flashpro vs reflash...?

So I was probably going to get the flashpro this summer for my 2006 S but just ran across this Evasive Motorsports PH: 626.336.3400 Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm PST: Hondata Reflash - Honda S2000 06-08 F22C Stock. for only $295. It says its for stock or nearly stock cars which is all I want and lowers Vtech to 5600 adding about 16 torque and 14hp to the upper midrange which all I'm wanting to do.

Could someone please explain why I should do the Flashpro and not just get this? Also, how is it installed. It says something about the only installed at Hondata dealer. Does this mean your ECU must be mailed in?
Sorry if I sound ignorant, this is new to me...lol.

Thanks

Jon

That's a reflash for the flash pro. In the pic it says "Reflash only - ECU not included"

You can get a used, unlocked Flashpro for about $500. It comes with base tunes from Hondata (like this one offered by Evasive), plus an unlimited amount of custom tunes you or anyone can come up with. You can flash and make changes as much as you want.

The $295 you linked is essentially asking a Hondata Dealer to use THEIR Flashpro/license to upload a base tune into your ECU. You would have to mail it in if you're not taking your car there.

Ok, got it. Thanks. Sounds like I should get the Flashpro for future possible upgrades.

Flashpro is great and the reason I made sure to get a 06+ S2000. Have it for my 8th gen Civic and it's a whole new car.

I'm going with a HFC that matches stock exhaust sizing, which I've read should allow VTEC to be lowered to around 4k.

Where in WV are you located? I'm in Parkersburg. You're more than welcome to come for a ride and check it out once I'm finished, if you haven't already picked it up by then. Though it'll be a few months before my car is back on the road.

A Gernby FlashPro tune is less than $100 and is based on trial data you submit from your car (vs a generic tune) under various conditions. Vastly increases midrange power and torque (revs climb so fast I fitted a red line alarm!). VTEC on my car is now at 3600 rpm.

I'm in Charleston so a little over an hour away. Thanks for the offer but I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this. Definitely PM me your impressions when you get it set up!

Wow! What mods do you have to do in order to achieve such a low vetch point? Does it now essentially just rev harder and smooth all the way up with no discernible vetch hit?

Swap your cat out for a high flow one or a test pipe

X2 on the Gernby road tune, best mod for the money.

You can also research Gernby on this Forum, you will be overwhelmed with what you will learn in the posts.
