Hondata Traction Control

No details yet, but I'm guessing they're going to be selling kits for individual car models that interface with the stock ABS sensors and use an available input to send a signal to the ECU to cut ignition based on the selected desirable slip angle. Very interested to see how this all pans out. Anyone else have speculation (or even better, actual info) that they'd like to add?
Wanted to post this for all those that may be on the fence about an engine management solution...might be something to consider.

I don't think it's redundant at all, since it's really a totally separate thing. The purpose of VSA and method for achieving it is totally different. When VSA engages, it kills throttle and applies braking force to one or more wheels to stabilize the car. If you disable VSA using a FlashPro, then VSA will still apply the braking function, which works very well even on a road course. However, the new system we're talking about in this thread seems to be more of a launch control for high powered cars. For example, if you have a high boost S2000 that will easily break the tires loose in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear just by putting the pedal to the floor ... this would enable you to configure how much tire slippage would be allowed before the throttle would be adjusted.
The thing that is most damaging to the diff is driveline shock on a hard clutch engagement. Traction control would do nothing for that. If anything, traction control might actually increase stress on the diff, since it will maintain maximum load on the diff.
