Thumbs down I think my AEM EMS is dead...

Haven't been on here in awhile, in my last month of school for my BSME...
Bad time for a dead car...

I went to drive the S this morning and it wouldnt start. The engine turns over just fine, but no fire. I tried hooking up the laptop to the EMS, but couldn't establish communications. Worry starts to set in...

I noticed the EPS and ABS lights were blinking erratically, so I first suspected the battery might not be getting enough juice to the AEM. Checked the voltage, 13.01vdc, thats fine, even tried a 2nd battery...no dice.

Scratching my head and pondering thoughts of a dead ecu, I noticed a pattern in the blinking lights, so I recorded them.

The EPS light blinks 3 repeating "codes"
--.
--..
---....

The ABS light blinks 2 repeating codes:
-------.
-..

I don't know about you, but those look like OBD-1 codes to me, but I couldn't find anything on how to read these codes.

The SRS light just stays on solid.
The temp gauge lights solid after about 30 seconds.

ISPBOOTTESTER won't establish comm either.

I tried to search the useless aem forums for info, and got nothing. I'm in big trouble here if I can't get my car up and running, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

Another obvious step would be to reseat all the connectors.

And check for power and ground on the appropriate pinns in connectors.

go to start car today and now you have this issue?

the computer you are connecting, have you established connection before to this car with ems?

what version AEM Pro are you running? are you using serial or serial to usb?

I am having a very similar problem, but mines not completely dead yet. Did you resolve yours? My EPS,CEL, light came on, went off... Misfiring bad. Changed plugs, reset ECU(CEL). nothing, still running like SH*&. CEL back on blinking... If you came up with something, let me know., Ill be your best friend I did go to bed with it fine, woke up and it wouldnt start. then it finally did after I convinced it of sudden death...

Take out your ECU and shake it. There was a chip that would rattle loose in the earlier ones.

If this was the problem you were very lucky to make it home.
