Default Kpro4 slight misfire at idle

I have Kpro4 with ID1000s and there is a very faint misfire at idle, no CEL and no abnormal readings on the datalog. I ran infinity and idle was PERFECT so we know nothing is wrong with other components. I have also just put in a new Kpro4 ecu and it still does it. Obviously its a tune tweak but I havnt been able to correct it. Seems if I fatten idle to 12.5 it goes away but that seems too rich to idle at.

Heres the thread on Hondata https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewto...p?f=12&t=19316

Sounds like the injectors are barely opening at idle, hence the misfire. Maybe you need to fine tune the injector parameters, if the Kpro allows this.

Check the injector dead times, be sure they are what ID recommend. Also in kpro set your injector size to 840cc. Let me know if that works

I used the Kpro wizard to change dead times, that didn't do anything to help. The only thing that seems to make the small misfire go away is setting target afr to 12.5/1 but isn't that too rich for idle?

After setting dead times to what Hondata recommends, my afrs are 1pt richer across the board up to redline. a 14.7/1 idle PERFECT on infinity but only on Kpro4 does it turn around and have this problem. No CEL and no abnormal data log evidence.

My tuner has the injector size set to 935 for the ID1000, wouldn't changing injector size in the calibration need dyno time to confirm afrs?

Kpro and ID does not seem to agree on what dead times to use. I used Kpros wizard for dead times and that did not fix the issue, it also cause my wideband to run 1pt richer across the whole band. The only thing that seems to cure it is setting idle afr targer to 12.7, seems it will need more tweaking by a tuner as I do not know enough about these things to start playing around with it.

Hmmm, I have kpro with ID1000s and my idle is darn near perfect. Be sure you have the updated version of kmanager. I will PM you my settings tomorrow just to see how the car responds.

Gotcha. If that doesn't work then Ill just put it on the dyno for tweaking. Sucks that IDs and Hondatas recommendations do not match. My tuner said that hondatas recommended dead times were for a higher fuel pressure according to IDs chart. I wish I had the tuning background to find the happy medium. I have idle set to 12.7 and it idles almost perfectly; however, I don't like idle to be that rich.... certainly makes more stinky. Yes I have a cat on ^^

I have ID1ks and kprov4 also, mine idles better than stock. I have an occasional misfire on a cold start up that will last 1-2 seconds but it comes around and idles perfect.

What is your setup? What dead times and such are you using?
