Default NA engine tuning

Hey guys. I have done a decent amount of reading and I haven't found any way to tune my NA s2000 w/o having something cheaper than an AEM EMS. Hondata is my prefered choice but at this point, I don't want to pay over 2 grand just to tune my NA s2000. I know I won't gain much but I just want my car to run as smooth as possible. I was looking at the aem FIC but I haven't heard anything too good about it on NA applications. Do v-tec controllers allow me to add/subtract fuel? I would assume you can't adjust timing with them. I really don't want to spend over 500 bucks just for NA tuning. I was going to go turbo but I don't have the extra cash laying around and I want to buy a house so turbo is out of the question for now. Any help would be great. Even a simple flash would be great if its offered. Thanks...

What year model do you have? If you have an '00-'01 with basic bolt-ons, you can get significant gains from a VAFC (or NEO). You'll still benefit from a VAFC on an '02-'05, but not as signficant. If you have an '06+, then the obvious choice is the Hondata FlashPro.

Greddy e-manage ultimate is always an option also, it is a piggyback though.

The AEM FIC (also piggyback) can only retard timing. If ur NA and in the mkt for a piggyback, get the emanage since it can do both fuel/timing. If u buy a house, chances are u'll need to buy stuff to put in the house so turbo may be a ways away. I'd say get the EMU since u can use it for mild turbo apps later. Another option is the VAFC which is cheaper and u can re-sell it later down the road when ur ready to go EMS and turbo.

I have a 2004. Is a tune necessary if I have an air intake, header, high flow cat, and Greddy Spectrum Elite?

Will it be worth the money? Will there be gains to justify the price of the EMS + tune?

Thanks.

just get kpro... u wont be dissapointed and thats 2k u wont have to spend when it comes to buying your turbo..

Hondata very smartly designed their software so with a bit of engine knowledge u may even be able to adjust your own tune...

I know that I added kpro to my old F20 motor and was bummed I didnt do it earlier, the ability to tune a motor no matter how stock it is makes it that much more drivable. plus its like making any engine mod u buy from now on that much better.
