Question about Doctronic Pro ECU (EMS)
Hey all,
I was considering purchasing a Doctronic Pro ECU from Ballade sports since it is supposed to be plug and play. My question is once the unit is installed and then dyno tuned can I later remove the system and reinstall the stock unit with the tune still intact? Basically can I easily swap the tuned unit (EMS) and stock unit back and forth?
Here is a link to the unit.

Is there anyway to save the tune? I'm thinking for emissions. I have a FIPK and a berk HFC atm, would a dyno tune yield much improvement over stock tune?

All this depends on what "emissions" means where you are. Simple OBD2 port check will fail if there's no port (have no clue what this ECU has).
But as for a tune my Gernby FlashPro tune (Berk HFC and Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust) uses the OEM ECU and passes Ohio smog testing easily. Just reads the OBD2 port.

I usually only respond on topics where I have some idea or knowledge on the actual topic.
In this case this means that I know this ECU obtain the OBD2 functionality and also that others have passed emissions tests with it installed, this is also the reason I wrote "you shouldn't need to remove it"
All this information is available in a topic further down in this forum section.
