Default Question about tuning a 2005!

I want to tune MY05 of course its not not flashpro accessible but would like to possibly buy AEM EMS v2 or v1 possibly.

ive already done some research and havent really found the answer clearly.

Now my question is I know that flashpro engages VTEC depending on throttle positon when tuned (ex. 66% throttle or higher vtec is engaged if im not mistaken)

So if I get a stand alone and want to tune it does it go by throttle position or RPM. And my main concern with that is if i am cruising on the freeway and I pass my Vtec engagement will I be cruising in Vtec??

Get the V2. I believe you can lower ur vtec with a tp and set ur throttle pos. At say 60-80%. Ur vtec won't engage till ur throttle position hits ur set %.

Sweet I was thinking the V2 as well. I already have my TP installed a year ago. But that awesome that all I really wanted to know so thank you very much. Now I gotta fork over some dough for a stand alone.

What are your future plans for the car? do you have to worry about emissions testing?

I use Haltech Pro PnP. You can set engagement with throttle position AND RPM so that you won't have that concern.

For now just want to lower Vtec and have more midrage possibly more power. And yes I do I live in CA which is a problem but could I not just change it back because its plug and play? and put my catalyst back on?

Yes, I would think EMS would have the same controls.

VTEC is RPM and load dependent... Any stand alone will allow you to control VTEC this way as well as have other options for it as well. If you're just doing those mods, I'd stick with an Apexi or whatever people use for that for simplicity and cost.

I have thought about an apexi or a vafc (or whatver it is lol). I just heard that they are not the best and I want it to run healthy and stay reliable.
