Here is a datalog I did with a restricted throttle plate. I did several different tests with restricted throttle plates to see where the AF curve would begin to transition from the PT shape to the WOT shape. As you can see, I was able to achieve virtually the same MAP value with a significantly restricted throttle plate, which shows significant impate to the AF.

Here is a more restricted throttle plate, which shows much more impact on the AF curve. Basically, any time I touch 50% throttle (about 33% throttle pedal with the stock mapping) at 3500 RPMs, my AFR's would go pig rich. This is why I have adjusted my maps for better resolution. I've also adjusted my target throttle map so that my throttle plate transitions very quickly to 100% open once it gets to the point where it reaches full load.
ok but you're never going to see the throttle body only 50% going into 90+ kpa. that's only occurring because you're limiting the opening of the throttle plate via the table. realistically, if you're seeing 90+ kpa that throttle body is close to if not 100% open depending on how you have the throttle plate table setup.

I discovered the issue by looking at datalogs that people send me all the time for review. I noticed that virtually every datalog shows a significant amount of time where the load is high while at part throttle, and AF is always uber rich. I started to look at my datalogs more closely, and found that my AF's were often in the 11's while cruising on the highway WITHOUT the cruise control. I have a bad habbit of "olscillating" my foot when I'm cruising. By optimizing my tune, I was able to increase my fuel economy significantly.

i've almost never see 90+ kpa part throttle. the only time i've seen that is with large cams. adding all those load columns won't do anything with regards to fuel economy because you don't cruise at 90+ kpa.

Since I lost almost all of my FlashPro datalogs (over 30 GB) during a system upgrade recently, I just did another datalog on my commute to work this morning. I exported the part from the highway to Excel (5.7 minutes of cruising), and did some analysis. The slowest speed in the log was 54 MPH and the highest was 86 (70 MPH Speed Limit). I never got out of 6th gear. I was on the phone the whole time, so I was really not thinking about the datalog AT ALL.

Summary:
67997 records total in datalog
2910 records (4.3%) with MAP at or above 884 mBar (Avg AF = 13.5 and Avg STFT = -1.1%)
2790 records (4.1%) with MAP at or above 884 mBar and Throttle plate at 70% or less (Avg AF = 13.5 and Avg STFT = -1.1%)
2465 records (3.6%) with MAP at or above 884 mBar and Throttle plate at 60% or less (Avg AF = 13.5 and Avg STFT = -1.0%)
1790 records (2.6%) with MAP at or above 884 mBar and Throttle plate at 50% or less (Avg AF = 13.6 and Avg STFT = -0.8%)
743 records (1.1%) with MAP at or above 884 mBar and Throttle plate at 40% or less (Avg AF = 13.8 and Avg STFT = -0.2%)

I will downgrade my calibration to 10 columns with "standard" load indexes (column 8 = 884, column 9 = 968, column 10 = 1008), and repeat the test next week.

Here is the datalog.
