Default TCT bolt has oil on it

Hello

Billman. I ran my engine for 5 minutes, and started to see a small amount of oil buildup on the front TCT bolt. Does this bolt leak oil? I have a 2001 with 94,000 miles. Please let me know.

FYI, I changed the VTEC solenoid gasket, that connect to the engine area. I have not changed the top gasket yet.

Thank you.

Scratch the post above. I reinstalled the vtec solenoid this morning. It could just be oil that slightly spilled when I pulled out the vtec solenoid. I will run my S2k again, and see if oil lands in that front TCT bolt. Thank you.

Update: I believe the vtec solenoid gasket changed, definitely helped with most of the leaking oil. Yes, everyday there is still a drop of oil on that front TCT bolt. I believe due to the valve cover gasket leaking. I've confirmed there is oil around the valve cover. The good news is that I have a valve adjustment appointment soon, and they will be replacing all the gaskets for the valve cover! That should stop all the small oil leaks!

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!

Definitely get a brand new OEM VC gasket set including spark plug tube seals and give that to the shop who's doing the valve adjustment. Once those are replaced, you shouldn't have oil seepage from the VC.
