I'll give you some insight. I have near the same setup you will make about 200 ish with an AP1 is it fast? No it's not. but it's fine. on an e manage and karcepts might make a few more with a louder larger exhaust. But when smog comes around you will be happy you can swap out your test pipe and pass.
The E manage is the only thing you can run and pass smog legally in CA. Or you can be a big boy hot smog and go with a real tune. Its really up to you also going with a better stand alone if you plan to boost or go ITBs or something down the line.

In CA you need to have a stock ECU and open access to your OBD 2 port where they scan the car put a sniffer in the exhaust. This is why you can have a tune as long as you have a cat you should be fine to pass
I passed with a high flow cat.

Curious about this topic too since I have a similar set up. Does the Emanage more or less do the same as a AFC Neo?

Emanage Ultimate can do a lot. Ignition timing, VTEC, Fuel, Ignition Cut, etc. I configure/tune mine.

The Karcepts tune is fine you car will run great; does it feel like you have a turbo or Supercharger no; you still have a all motor s2000 it's not a fast car at all.
But you will get vtec at 4200 with 60 % throttle will open it up; so if you are light footed you still can get good gas mpg and if you want to rip vtec all day you can.
Did it wake up the car for sure it did; much more fun to drive. If you are not planning to ever go bigger with boost or itbs it might be perfect for you.
Just understand you have a all motor car at the end of the day it's not like a huge increase in performance its a small bump.

That's all I want to do, and after reading the last thread you had, I think the Karcepts Emanage might be the way to go.

It can be cheap if you can get a deal to be honest at full price if you pay 400 for the harness 500 ish for the e mange and 250 for the tune i don't think at full price it's worth it. So look for one second hand if you can find it.
If i didn't live in CA I would of done a AEM v2 if I didn't have to deal with smog. I think it opens a lot more door you could do you all motor tune; then use to go boost if you wanted to do that one day.
Getting around smog isn't that big of a deal; but then you have to worry about State Ref; just having a modified car in CA just kind of sucks. It still comes down to how you drive tho.
If you drive like a dick your are going to get pulled over it's just a matter of time till you get a cop who wants to ruin your car fun.

Gotcha. Luckily, Ontario got a new premier and scrapped emissions testing for us so I guess something to consider as well. I don't think I'll be going FI on this car, I've been there done that sort of thing, I just want to wake it up a little bit.
