Tuning suggestions '04 AP2
Just got this '04 and while I had originally planned on boosting it the car is awfully clean and I think I want to just keep it stock.
So performance I'm pretty limited to bolt-ons and tuning.
Since switching to HONDATA is pricey and a lot of extra parts what set-up would you all suggest for lowering the VTEC engagement down to something more usable on the street?

Without an aftermarket tunable ECU you can't do anything like this. Hondata K-Pro S2000 is one. It's built on an Acura RSX ECU which you can provide or they can. Ain't cheap which is the main reason 2006 or later was the #1 item on my priority list when shopping for a S2000 back in 2014 since those have tunable ECUs which can be tuned with Hondata FlashPro (about $500 on the second hand market).

Link G4x is a good option, lots of nice features and expandability if needed.

Are you currently using one yourself?
With LINK, questions I'd ask is will it have 2 different fuel maps for each cam profile. Will it have 2 different ignition maps for each cam profile? Just good things to know - probably does.
Do you have a shop in mind to tune it, do they know LINK interface, are they willing to tune LINK, are you willing to let them practice on your car if they haven't tuned on a LINK yet? F22 motor is $$$ these days, so taking chances is more sketchy these days than before.
With LINK you're now in a standalone territory that comes with it's own challenges. You'll also need to grab a wideband and wire it in to tune any cells above stoich/part throttle/cruise. Etc Etc.
I hear great things about LINK. If you're willing to invest time, money, trust others (tuning shop) or potentially even yourself to massage the tune here and there - do it.
