Default VAFC2 Tune

Hey s2ki.... I recently acquired a VAFC2 controller from a friend and would like to get a tune for MY00. I'm new at tuning and would like to know what else do I need to get to for my dyno tune. I search on the forum and read that I should buy a AEM adjustable fuel pressure regulator to help with adding fuel. I'm going to buy a PnP harness, once I get a chance. I called a local tuner shop and asked them for a price for a tune and they said $350.00. Is that a good price? My current mods are AEM intake v2, berk headers , Berk 3" headerback exhaust with test pipe. Thank you

I'd invest part of that $350 in a wideband and street tune this system yourself, its really easy with a basic understanding. Otherwise this set up investment isnt worth the money. If your going to spend $350 on a tune and rely on a tuner, just pick up an E-manage or full stand alone.

The only way to street tune one is having a wideband gauge installed to have an afr reference, otherwise you don’t know what corrections you need. As far as learning how to tune the unit, I’m sure there are some old threads you can search here. Its an easy unit to learn on, but it can be a little confusing to navigate at first, since there is a lot of features the vafc has that are not applicable to our car.

Not sure what you are asking. If you're asking if an AEM EMS and VAFC are different, then the answer is: yes, world's different.

I had my 05 tuned by, arguably, the best Honda tuner in Dallas at T1. It cost me $200 for the tune and that included 3 dyno runs! $350 seems really really high! He had my vtec engagement at 3800! I ended up selling it bc I was constantly in vtec while on the highway and my mileage was awful! It gained me about 3hp to the wheels but certainly helped the midrange and lowered vtec engagement, plus it looked cool!
