VSS signal Link G4X
Hi guys,
Trying to get a vehicle speed channel working in the Link G4X plug n play, stock gauge cluster is not used, I have a AIM MXS dash.
In Link ECU, there is a Gearbox speed input in DI8, connected to pin A9, this goes to the VSS sensor in the transmission (AP1)
Does anyone know what kind of signal the stock VSS sensor (in the transmission) outputs?
Is it already a digital signal.

Don't know if this is what you want but:
The ECM has a terminal A9 which is called "Vehicle Speed Input (VSS)" it goes to the Vehicle Speed Sensor via a Blue/White wire (also goes to the Gauge Assembly with a Blue/White wire).
The Speed Sensor is mounted on the Transmission on the left side. It has a 3 wire connector with Black (ground), Blue/White (Sensor output to the ECM) and Yellow/Blue (Reference Voltage).
I think not having the stock instrument cluster means you are going to have to intercept the signal before it goes into the cluster so the LINK can use it...

my transmission vss sensor is connected to the ECU but no signal is coming in to the LInk, so i'm trying to ascertain if it's suppose to work out of the box with Link G4X, in which case i might have a wiring issue.

I'm 99% sure its an analog signal from the VSS.
