Thumbs up 10.0AFR on a Vortech 10PSI w/ AEM

So I got tuned back on January 11th and have been daily driving my car ever since. I mash the gas quite often, and I even went to an Autocross a couple weeks ago.

I was tuned by Tony Palo @ T1 -- very reputable tuner. Here are my AFR's that I'm getting from my AEM Wideband:

Idle -- 11.3-12.1 (mostly hovering at 11.7 or 11.8)
Cruising -- 12.3-13.4
WOT - As low as 9.99 or 10.0. Can read gauge at 10.5 to 10.6 on the way up

I talked to my tuner and he said it is rich, but that's because of the "nature of a supercharger" and that it is better/safer to run superchargers richer at WOT.

Am I in danger of harming anything with my current AFR's? I am planning on going to my first track event at the end of next month... so I'm kinda worried. Just looking for thoughts.

Thanks for your input!

I would get it re tuned somewhere else, that's way to rich. I doubt rich enough to cause serious damage quickly but you still don't want it running like that.

Are you running alcohol?

I hope your tuner isn't trying to tell you that those are normal numbers for idle and cruise as well!

your car wasn't tuned using the aem wideband. they used a motec wideband and i was told that the Aem one can be .5 off from where the motec will read. they also said the aem wasn't a "real" wideband.

(we were tuned at the same shop)

either way, Mase is coming in june and he made my car 10 times better after his tune. call him and talk to him when he comes back from europe next week

I have seen AEM gauges .5 off but his tune is around 2.0 off. That's not even close.

LOL... Ummm what? Haha. Original post (AFR's) modified. Just did another WOT run and I can monitor the gauge on the way up reading 10.5 or 10.6... But when I recall the lowest number for that run, I get 9.99

Tony is a great tuner, I would call him and just ask. I am sure that he can explain for fix any problems.

It almost looks as if your wideband is offest a few precentage points but you should calibrate to make sure.

Idle -- 13.3-14.1 (mostly hovering at 13.7 or 13.8)
Cruising -- 14.3-15.4
WOT - As low as 11.99 or 12.0. Can read gauge at 12.5 to 12.6 on the way up

If you a 2 point to everything then it looks great. The rich idlehelps smooth the idle out without spending days on the Idle air control PI loop and other idle functions. This would explanin why you are running richer at idle than cruise.

Hope this helps
