10:1 or 9:1
Hello guys
Just got mike a laskey racing to get me an F22c block and crank, for a full build
I have a gt3071 r turbo. I live in Barbados where there are many tight corners and not that much long high ways for top end speed.
I was thinking to go 10:1 so pick-up and spool time will be quicker.
I know people are going to say 9:1 will be safer but whats the pros and cons!!
Thanks

u can make serious power on 10:1 and 9:1. since the block will be sleeved with mean components, either one should be fine. i personally would go with 9:1, but thats becuase most of the FI oem cars that have crazy power potential all have close to 9:1 CR. supra, GN, 03-04 cobra, srt4, hell, even the new vette ZR1 has 9.1:1.
so if it was me, again, 9:1. u want better spool, spend the money on a nice manifold.

Desired cr is dependent on the type of fuel you will be using. For example, if you are running E85, a higher cr would be ideal because of its superior detonation resistance. If you're running 91, 9:1 would be fine. In the past low, cr's were thought to be essential in turbo applications, but with the improvements in turbo and ecu technology in the recent years this is no longer the case. People in the evo world have been successfully upping the cr as high as 11:1 in order to reap the benefits of E85
